How to Use This Page and Safety Check Procedure

APO Brothers from far and wide, this page is for you to coordinate travel plans to 2008 National Convention in Boston. Each region of the country where drivers are likely to come from has two sections: one for rides offered and one for rides needed. Please include your name and contact information when you comment on each post so that your fellow brothers can find you to arrange your trips. Below is a system to asure that people communicating on this board are members of APO and registered for 2008 National Convention.

We want to ensure that this is a safe experience for all and this Board is a public so please follow the following instructions.

1) DO NOT POST SPECIFIC TRAVEL PLANS OR LOCATIONS ON THIS RIDE BOARD.
2) Make a connection with another brother by posting something similar to: I am looking/Offering a ride from west central Missouri to Boston. If you are interested or can help you can reach me at apo@gmail.com.
3) Send the person an individualized e-mail asking them for their Convention Registration Confirmation Number.
4) Check the Convention Website (must be logged in) for the list of confirmation numbers and matching e-mails.
5) If the confirmation number and the e-mail provided match, go ahead and make specific plans by direct e-mail only or share phone numbers and discuss over the phone.
6) If they number and e-mail do not match do not share your specific travel information.

We also highly recommend that travel be in groups in three or more to help ensure safety.
Remember there are people on the internet that are looking to take advantage of people. Make sure you are comfortable with who you are sharing information before you provide anyone any personal information.
